Mayor’s Message August 14, 2026

Dear Residents,

It is back to school for families in South Barrington. There is something exciting about the start of a new school year. It is a fresh start, and it is the beginning of some new adventures, new friendships, and, of course, plenty of opportunities to learn and grow!

As our students get ready to trade swimsuits for backpacks, we want to remind our community of some basic safety tips, as kids head back to school and buses return to our roads.

To all of our students, whether you’re stepping into a classroom for the first time or heading into another year of school, I wish you a wonderful year filled with curiosity, confidence, laughter, and success. To parents and families, best of luck with those early mornings, busy schedules, and getting everyone out the door on time!

Here’s to a new school year, new possibilities, and a bright future ahead! Welcome back, students, we’re cheering you on! And stay safe!!!

NEW ARCHITECTURAL CONTROL COMMISSIONER: PRASHANT PATEL

At Thursday’s Board Meeting, I had the honor of officially swearing in and welcoming Prashant Patel to the Architectural Control Commission.
We’re excited to have Prashant join the Commission and bring his expertise, passion, and commitment to South Barrington to the table. We know his contributions will be a great benefit to our community.

SHRED EVENT — REMINDER!

One of the easiest ways for identity thieves to steal your information is through the unsecured documents they find in your trash.

Securely disposing of documents with sensitive information is essential. As a service to our residents and members of SWANCC, the Village is hosting its Annual Document Shred Day on Saturday, September 5th, right here behind Village Hall from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM for South Barrington residents.

Now is the time to sift through that pile of old documents you’ve been holding onto and get them shredded. NOW is your chance!

Bring your sensitive documents and safely dispose of them, securely and conveniently.

After their original concert was canceled due to weather, Disco Circus is officially returning to The Arb on Wednesday, August 19!

Get ready for a high-energy night filled with disco favorites, dazzling costumes, and plenty of dancing! Come dressed in your best disco-inspired look for a chance to win the costume contest! Last year, there were some amazing costumes, I can’t wait to see what this year brings!
