Amusement Taxes

The Village of South Barrington has established a Village Theater Amusement Tax which applies to all operating theater exhibitions, show, theatrical, movie or cinematic event offered to the public in the Village of South Barrington, and shall pay the Village an amount equal to forty-five cents ($0.45) for each “paid admission”, as defined in Section 3-10-1 of the Village Code of Ordinance, entering into or upon the amusement area or grounds of the Licensee.

The amusement tax is in addition to, and not instead of, any other license fees required by the Village Code of Ordinances. All sales tax collected by the Village of South Barrington are remitted to the Illinois Department of Revenue on a monthly basis.
