Mission Statement
The South Barrington Police Department is committed to safeguarding our community through service built on honor, guided by integrity, and rooted in respect. We strive to protect life and property, uphold the rights of all individuals, and build strong partnerships with those we serve. With dedication and professionalism, we are committed to promoting a safe, secure, and inclusive environment for all.
Welcome from the Chief of Police
On behalf of the men and women of the South Barrington Police Department, thank you for visiting our web page. We hope you are able to find many useful tools here. Please feel free to navigate through the main village and police pages to learn more about the Village of South Barrington and what it has to offer.
The South Barrington Police Department is a professional, well-trained and well-equipped organization comprised of 20 full-time police officers, 5 part-time police officers, and 4 civilians. We have a dedicated group of employees committed to delivering quality law enforcement services to the residents and businesses of South Barrington and to providing them with a safe and secure environment to live, work and visit. Should a resident need a police officer for any reason whether it is a simple service call or emergency, you are to call 911. Many people are reluctant to call 911 for simple service calls such as a barking dog, parking complaint etc. and believe 911 is only for emergencies. Here at South Barrington as well as surrounding communities it is simpler than that. If you need a police response, call 911.
Here at the Police Department we understand that we get our authority not only from the law, but from the trust and confidence placed in us by the South Barrington community. We honor that trust and confidence every day by serving consistently with our core values: Honor, Integrity and Respect. With the many challenges that face law enforcement today, I am proud of the Department’s ability to stay the course in its commitment to providing the best possible police services to the Village. If I can be of service to you, please do not hesitate in contacting me.
Sincerely,
Michael Garrison
Chief of Police
