South Barrington has an intergovernmental agreement with Barrington and Cuba Townships to provide PACE a Dial-A-Ride bus service to senior and disabled persons for medical purposes and retail shopping. PACE buses travel within the boundary limits of Barrington and Cuba Township serving Barrington, Barrington Hills, Lake Barrington, North Barrington, South Barrington, Tower Lakes and portions of Lake Zurich. The fare for this service is $2.00 each way and you must make reservations at least 1 day in advance for retail shopping and 1 week in advance for doctor appointments. Barrington Area Council On Aging (BACOA) offers a variety of volunteer-led transportation services. See below for a list of transportation services offered by BACOA.

Easy Riders transportation program offers rides to medical appointments, errands, and BACOA events. Call 847-381-5030 at least 7 days before your appointment to reserve a ride.

Escorted Transportation Service Northwest (ETS/NW) offers transportation to older adults for health-related appointments. Available by appointment only and a 7 day advanced notice is required. Please visit the Escorted Transportation Service website here.

Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital offers service to and from the main hospital campus, Advocate Good Shepherd Fitness Center, and other outpatient location for resident residents living in 60010. To make transportation arrangements, call 844-574-5700 at least 24 hours in advance. A minimal fee is required.

Barrington Township will pay one-half of the fare up to a maximum $5.00. Proof residency is required. Barrington Township issues 10 tickets per month to each resident. For another set of tickets to be sent in the mail, residents can call Barrington Township at 847-381-5632 for more information.

The I-90 express bus provides a connection from the Barrington Road station on I-90 to the Rosemont River Road CTA station.  From Rosemont, riders are able to transfer to the CTA for trips towards downtown Chicago or to O’Hare Airport. The Park-n-Ride lot is located on the north side of the I-90, just east of Barrington Road and provides free parking for PACE riders.

Pedestrian ways under the toll ramps, along with the new pedestrian overpass of I-90, offer access to the I-90 bus station.  From there, express buses on Routes 603, 605, and 610 travel to and from the CTA Blue Line station in Rosemont for connections to O’Hare and downtown via the CTA.  Another, Route 607, connects to the Northwest Transportation Center in Schaumburg.  To the west, these routes travel to the Elgin Transportation Center (Route 603), Randall Road Park-n-Ride (Routes 605607), and Prairie Stone Business Park (Route 610).  Details on schedules and route maps can be found on Pace’s website by entering a number in the Route Finder box on the left side of the page.

Metra operates from two commuter rail services that are accessible and close to South Barrington.

O’Hare International Airport

O’Hare International Airport (ORD) is conveniently located 20 minutes east of South Barrington on I-90. There are also public transit options with the CTA Blue Line, Metra, and PACE.

The Village of South Barrington is conveniently located just north of two I-90 interchanges, allowing commuters easy access on and off the Toll road at Barrington Road and IL Route 59/Sutton Road. The I-90 Toll road runs east and west, from Chicago to Rockford and Wisconsin.
