Dear Residents,
Summer is winding down which means it is time to get ready for the start of the new school year.
Fall and the new school year may be just around the corner, but there’s still time to soak up the best of summer! There are a few great summer events left to enjoy, including the final performances of our Summer Concert Series and a popular StreetFest. Gather your family, invite your neighbors, and close out the summer season with great music, food, and community fun.
Don’t miss these final opportunities to celebrate summer:
August 12th: Mike and Joe
August 19th: The Disco Circus
August 30th: StreetFest
See you at the show!
CONSERVANCY COMMISSION VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The Village of South Barrington is seeking community members who are passionate about preserving and enhancing our natural spaces to serve on the Conservancy Commission.
The Village is preparing to implement the Conservancy Master Plan Project, and we are in need of volunteers to help guide the future of the Conservancy. Commission members provide valuable input on planning initiatives, stewardship efforts, educational opportunities, and other projects that help preserve and enhance this treasured community asset.
Whether you have professional experience, or just enjoy nature and the outdoors, we encourage you to consider serving in this important role. If you are interested in learning more about serving on the Conservancy Commission, please contact Makayla at mterfehn@southbarrington.org to discuss next steps.
We welcome all residents who are eager to get involved and make a difference in our community!

BARRINGTON ROAD UTILITY RELOCATION UDPATES
Preparations continue for the Barrington Road Widening Project, which is scheduled to begin in 2027. As previously mentioned, you will notice utility crews working along the corridor as infrastructure is relocated ahead of construction.
CURRENT UPDATES INCLUDE:
AT&T Utility Relocation: Pirtano Construction, the contractor working on behalf of AT&T, is currently installing six PVC conduits beneath Algonquin Road as part of the utility relocation process. At this time, a completion date for this work has not been provided.
Nicor Gas Relocation: Nicor Gas is anticipated to mobilize crews to the Barrington Road corridor by mid-August 2026 to begin its utility relocation work.
These relocation efforts are a critical step in preparing the corridor for the future roadway improvements. We appreciate residents’ patience as this work progresses and encourage motorists to use caution when traveling through active work zones.
CONGRATULATIONS OFFICER SANTIAGO!
Congratulations are in order for Officer Santiago, who continues to exemplify professionalism, dedication, and a high level of commitment to our community.
Officer Santiago was recently honored with the Life Saving Achievement Award and a Certificate of Appreciation from the Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists (AAIM) in recognition of his exceptional DUI enforcement efforts and his commitment to protecting lives on our roadways.
Thank you, Officer Santiago, for your hard work, unwavering dedication, and continued commitment to serving our community with excellence. Your efforts make South Barrington a safer place for everyone, and we are grateful for your service.
