Dear Residents,
This is the time of year when many people leave town for a getaway before school starts. Please remember you can always contact the South Barrington Police Department and ask for an officer to check in on your property when you are gone.
The vacation house watch form can be found on the Village website.

Understanding Your Reassessment Notice
Barrington Township is currently hearing property assessment appeals, but please remember the deadline to appeal is August 15, 2025.
Follow the link to learn how to file an appeal online. To access detailed information about residential and commercial reassessments in specific areas of the township, take a look at these valuation reports.
Please keep in mind these are property assessment appeals, not property tax appeals. Property owners cannot appeal a property tax, but they can appeal their property assessment.
In addition, Barrington Township will be having a virtual appeal workshop on Monday, July 21, 2025, from 6:00 p.m.-7:00p.m. in English and Tuesday, July 22, 2025, from 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. in Spanish. These virtual workshops will give homeowners the opportunity to learn about reassessments and ask questions. Both graphics are attached to this email to share with other homeowners.

Welcome Executive Assistant
I am pleased to announce the hiring of Makayla Terfehn as our new executive assistant. Makayla started this week, and we are happy to have her as a part of our team. Welcome Makayla!

Village Parkway Tree’s
We have heard from residents lately about parkway trees.
We strive to maintain the trees in our community and are appreciative when residents bring concerns to our attention. To report any street-side dead trees, please fill out our Tree Survey.
The Village uses the list from the survey as the basis for our tree removal and tree replacement program. Reported trees will be evaluated, and if eligible, added to the master removal list. Once the yearly program is completed, individual parkway trees will not be replaced until the next year.
Sip and Shop
We all love to shop but I think we can all agree that shopping with a glass of wine is even better!
Several Village Center businesses are now participating in the Sip and Shop program every Friday and Saturday evening this summer. Check with your favorite shops for details on how you can enjoy a glass while browsing unique finds and local goods.
Your beverage will be served in a special Sip & Shop cup with lid. Then enjoy it while browsing The Arboretum of South Barrington! The participating businesses are Tangled Roots Craft Brew & Kitchen, The Hampton Social and Star Cinema Grill. To learn more about the rules and restrictions click HERE.
Summer Concerts at The Arboretum
Double the bands are double the fun!
Wednesdays are the regular concert days at the Wickstrom Summer Concert Series at The Arboretum of South Barrington but there will be a Sunday Summer concert on July 27th.
Come on out on Wednesday July 23rd at 6:30 pm for the popular Chicago-based alternative rockers Pino Farina Band as they “apply their signature sound and energy to cover songs that span decades.”
Then come out on Sunday, July 27th from 1 – 3 p.m. to the Main Street Plaza to hear the Wilson River Band. Wilson River Band brings a high-quality, harmony-driven mix of classic rock, pop, and country hits. played with precision and the perfect sound balance.
Two concerts. One action-packed week at The Arboretum of South Barrington!
As always, I am here to listen to your thoughts and concerns. Feel free to email me at pmccombie@southbarrington.org or use the anonymous comment boxes located in the lobbies of Village Hall and the Police Department. I review these messages privately and value your input.
Have an enjoyable weekend!
Paula McCombie
