Dear Residents,
Last week, I wrote about the Conservancy of South Barrington, which is a property the Village owns to provide residents with a place to go to experience nature without having to drive a long distance.
We are in the process of developing a Conservancy Master Plan and last Wednesday we had a meeting to present ideas to the public on how best to improve the Conservancy for residents.
At the meeting, we unveiled idea boards with possible new uses for the Conservancy. Ideas ranged from an outdoor amphitheater to a migratory bird watching sanctuary and everything in between.
If you missed the Wednesday meeting, don’t worry because there will be another public meeting on the Conservancy on Sept. 25th at 7 pm. I also welcome anyone to send in their thoughts via email. We genuinely want to hear from you because the Conservancy really belongs to the community as a whole and our goal is to make this something we can take pride in as South Barrington residents.
Please take a moment and look at the Idea Boards. You can access them by clicking HERE. I look forward to hearing from you!
Important scheduling notes…
The Village will be holding a Plan Commission/Public Hearing on Monday August 26th at 7 p.m. to discuss the Area N land sale. We recently had a special meeting on this issue and about 50 people attended the meeting. We welcome everyone to come out on Monday and weigh in on this important issue facing our community.
