Register to Vote at Village Hall
In-person voter registration closed at Village Hall on October 8, 2024. Early Voting begins on October 21, and a listing of locations can be found here.

Additional Ways to Register to Vote
You may register to vote in several ways, including online, by mail, and in-person on Election Day.
1. Online Registration
If you have an Illinois driver’s license or state ID, you may register online through the online voter registration application by visiting the Illinois State Board of Elections website.
2. Paper/PDF
If you don’t have a driver’s license or state ID, you may apply to register to vote by using an online application provided by the Illinois State Board of Elections. You must have a printer or provide an email to complete your online application.
Eligible suburban Cook County residents can complete a mail-in voter application form and return it to the Cook County Clerk’s office. Voter registration applications are available in English, Hindi, Korean, Spanish, Chinese, and Polish.
The Clerk’s office can also mail you an application form. Call (312) 603-0906 to request one.
3. Early Voting & Registration
Early Voting for the Presidential Election ends on Monday, November 4. For South Barrington residents planning to vote early, the closest locations to do so are the following:

Early Voting hours at both locations are the following: Monday through Friday 9 am to 5 pm, Saturday 9 am to 5 pm, and Sunday 10 am to 4 pm
4. Election Day Registration and Voting
On Election Day, voters who are not registered to vote can register and vote at their home precinct only. Any voter who is not registered and needs to know where to go to register and vote on Election Day can utilize the Clerk’s online Your Voter Information Tool to find their proper polling place by address or birthday.
Voters planning on registering to vote or updating their address on Election Day must bring two pieces of identification to register, one with a current address.
5. Voting By Mail
Voters, including first-time voters, may Vote By Mail. Voters can Apply Online at the Cook County Clerk’s website.
If you do not have one of the online application requirements, or if you prefer to apply on paper, you may download, print and sign a mail ballot application and send it to the Cook County Clerk’s office.
If submitting a mail ballot application by mail:
- Fill out the entire application
- Sign the application
- Mail the completed, signed application to:

Cook County will mail you a ballot. You may choose to deliver your sealed ballot to your polling location, mail it (must be postmarked no later than November 5), or drop it off any official Mail Ballot Drop Off location listed here.

1. Online Registration
If you have an Illinois driver’s license or state ID, you may register online through the online voter registration application by visiting the Illinois State Board of Elections website.
2. Mail-In Registration
Eligible suburban Cook County residents can complete a mail-in voter application form and return it to the Cook County Clerk’s office.

3. In Person Registration
Eligible suburban Cook County residents can also register to vote in person with a certified registrar by going to:
- One of the Cook County Clerk’s six locations
- A village, city or township clerk
- An Illinois Secretary of State’s drivers license facility
- Deputy registrars
- Registration is also available at other state government offices, including public assistance offices and military recruitment offices.
Identification needed when registering in person:
If registering to vote in person, you must display two pieces of identification. Neither needs to be a photo ID, but one must include your current address. Acceptable forms of ID include:
- Illinois driver’s license
- Illinois state ID
- Employee or student ID
- Credit card
- Social security card
- Birth certificate
- Utility bill in applicant’s name
- Mail postmarked to the applicant
- Valid U.S. passport
- Lease or rental contract
