The Village of South Barrington is a local municipality governed by a Village President and six Village Trustees which are elected positions within the village and make up the Village Board. Additionally, the Village includes a Village Clerk which is also an elected position within the village and assisted by the Deputy Clerk upon their absence. Village staff consists of a Village Administrator, Chief of Police, Director of Finance, Village Engineer, Building Officer, Executive Assistant, and Administrative Assistant.
Several committees have been formed to include both elected officials and staff which make recommendations to the Village Board to conduct Village business. The Village President is also assisted by a Village Attorney and the Village Treasurer.
