Dear Residents,
Our community continues to grow and attract new people and new businesses and opportunities for our residents. I just recently had the pleasure of attending the ribbon cutting for Once Upon a Smile pediatric dentistry this past weekend, and the event highlighted everything that makes the practice special, from engaging activities and a warm, professional staff to a thoughtfully designed, family-friendly facility.
We extend our sincere thanks to the entire Once Upon a Smile team for providing such a welcoming experience for children and families in our community. We enjoy having you in South Barrington!

Tree Care
Our community has taken great care and pride in preserving plant life. To that end, we encourage residents to report any parkway trees that appear to be in poor condition. Our Arborist will evaluate each tree and determine the appropriate next steps to ensure the health and safety of the tree.
Additionally, if you’ve recently had a parkway tree removed that has not yet been replaced, please let us know so we can add it to our planting list for the upcoming Spring season. Please report all tree inquiries to Ryan Murphy by emailing him at rmurphy@southbarrington.org or by calling the Village directly.
Solar Project Update
In the past few weeks, we’ve received several inquiries from residents regarding the status of the Village’s community solar project. Over the summer, the Federal legislative process temporarily slowed solar development nationwide as the industry awaited clarity on new laws and policies.
Now that the updated Federal policy affecting solar energy projects has been finalized, developers have a clearer path forward. Our solar partner has been working closely with ComEd to complete final interconnection designs, and the transfer of the project is underway. Once that process is complete, the engineering, procurement, and construction phases will follow.
If all continues as planned, we anticipate that building permit applications may be submitted to the Village later this winter. This is an exciting step toward bringing more clean energy to our community. Look here for more updates as we get them.
