Mayor’s Message March 7, 2025

Dear Residents,

We are updating our contact list for HOA Presidents and Board members to ensure
everyone is receiving all of the Village’s communications and getting the
information they need.

Please submit your information by email to ascola@southbarrington.org. We will
publish the HOA’s that we are unable to contact in next week’s e-blast with the
hope that if their board members do not subscribe to Friday’s eblast, their
constituents will remind them to update their information. Please note this contact
information is not shared.

Greggory opens at the Arboretum

Our newest South Barrington restaurant, the Greggory opened to the public today
in the Arboretum! The Greggory led by seasoned restaurateurs Gregg Horan
(Gibsons Restaurant Group) and Bill Veremis (Rosewood Steakhouse Group),
along with partner Executive Chef Jose Sosa (Gibsons Italia) have opened this
latest eatery at the Arboretum. I had a chance to experience the great food, great
service, and outstanding ambience, and it did not disappoint.

With its refined, cozy design, The Greggory is built to be a neighborhood
institution, offering a relaxed weekday dinner or a celebratory dining experience,
all with the generous spirit and passion of its founders. The Greggory is located in
the Arboretum at 100 W. Higgins Road, next to Hampton Social.

Giostra owner Chef Fabio Viviani in the Tournament of Champions

GIOSTRA’s very own Fabio Viviani is currently competing against 32 other chefs
on Guy Fieri’s Tournament of Champions, Season VI. This season, some of the
world's greatest chefs are battling in a head-to-head single-elimination, bracket-
style competition and are putting their culinary skills to the test for a chance to win
the iconic championship belt and the biggest cash prize in TOC history – $150,000.

Fabio Viviani, a Florence-born, SoCal-based author, restaurateur and chef who
specializes in reimagined Tuscan cuisine, is a Chicagoland legend. He’s appeared
on Cutthroat Kitchen, Chopped All-Stars and Beat Bobby Flay.

Tournament of Champions is on the Food Network, Sundays at 7pm. His head to
head match is scheduled for round 3 on the Sunday March 16 th episode. Tune in
and root Chef Fabio on to victory!

Sip & Shop at The Arb

The only thing that would make shopping at the Arboretum an even better
experience is to have your favorite beverage in your hand while you shop.
Well now you can shop and sip your favorite adult beverage.

NEW at The Arboretum is the Sip, Shop & Stroll which allows patrons to enjoy
adult beverages while shopping at The Arboretum of South Barrington. From craft
beer and wine to cocktails and mocktails, enjoy a refreshing to-go beverage from
Tangled Roots Craft Brew & Kitchen or Hampton Social as you explore The
Arboretum of South Barrington! Grab your drink in a special Sip & Shop cup

Recycle Coach for Improved Recycling

The Illinois EPA has a tool residents can use to be more informed about their
recycling efforts.

The Illinois EPA has fully funded the Recycle Coach digital tool for all
communities in the state to use, to increase and improve recycling. Every
community may use Recycle Coach for pick-up schedule reminders, material
search tools, collection event details, and other hyper-local education to empower
residents to find information fast and efficiently. The information is deployed via a
simple web app that codes directly into your website or through the Recycle Coach
mobile app.

Holi Festival of Colors

Holi the festival of colors will be celebrated at the end of next week. Holi signifies
the triumph of good over evil. It originated and is predominantly celebrated in the
Indian subcontinent but has also spread to other regions of Asia and parts of the
Western world through the Indian diaspora.

Spring Forward

Before going to bed tomorrow, Saturday, March 8, don’t forget to set your clocks
ahead one hour for Daylight Saving Time. In addition, the time change serves as a
reminder to test all smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in your home. So,
remember to set your clocks and remember to protect your home by checking your
smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

Lost Dog

Lastly, I want to thank everyone for the wonderful response and kindness regarding
our lost dog dilemma that was in my extra post. The dog now has a good chance to
be adopted. Thank you again!
