Dear Residents,
It has been a hot few days, and the smoky air certainly hasn’t helped. We hope everyone has been able to stay cool indoors and limit time outside during this stretch of extreme heat and poor air quality.
ONLINE PAYMENT SERVICE
The Village will soon be launching new online payment and application services, making it easier and more convenient to do business with the Village.
Beginning in early August, residents and businesses will be able to make secure online and credit card payments for a variety of Village services, including water bills, building permits, yard waste stickers, and more. In addition, many Building Department applications and permit processes will also be available online, allowing customers to submit and manage applications from the comfort of their home or office.
Over the past several months, Village staff have been working closely with BS&A Software to implement the new system and ensure as smooth a transition as possible. While any new system comes with a learning curve, our staff will be available to answer questions and assist residents and businesses throughout the process.
We anticipate online and credit card payment capabilities will be available beginning August 3. Additional information, including instructions and available services, will be shared as we get closer to launch.
We appreciate your patience during this transition and look forward to providing a more efficient, convenient, and user-friendly experience.

UTILITY RELOCATION WORK UNDERWAY ALONG BARRINGTON ROAD
In preparation for the Barrington Road Widening Project, there has been some ongoing utility relocation work.
Pirtano Construction is currently installing underground conduits for AT&T on the west side of Barrington Road between Algonquin Road and Central Road. This work is expected to continue through August 2026.
Following AT&T’s conduit installation, additional utility companies will continue relocating their infrastructure to accommodate the future roadway improvements. This includes, but is not limited to, ComEd, which will be relocating overhead electrical lines, and Nicor Gas. Utility relocation activities are anticipated to continue through March 2027.
These utility improvements are a necessary step in preparing the area for the Barrington Road Widening Project. We appreciate the community’s patience as this important infrastructure work progresses.

ARBORETUM SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
The Summer Concert Series at the Arboretum is in full swing and if you missed the show Wednesday, you missed a great show that had everyone dancing and singing.
7th Heaven had the lawn packed with music, energy, and nonstop fun. It was one crowd favorite song after another. One of the night’s highlights was the Jumbotron, which displayed the original artists behind each cover song, adding a fun, interactive touch that everyone enjoyed!

The summer fun continues next Wednesday, July 22, at 6:30 p.m. as Straight from the Heart takes the stage with an unforgettable tribute to the Big 3 of the 1980s: Bryan Adams, Rick Springfield, and Eddie Money. If you love classic ’80s rock, this is a concert you won’t want to miss!
As always, I am here to listen to your thoughts and concerns. Feel free to email me at pmccombie@southbarrington.org, or use the anonymous comment boxes located in the lobbies of Village Hall and the Police Department. I review these messages privately and value your input.
Have an enjoyable weekend!
Paula McCombie, Mayor
