2026 Road Program – Planning and Updates

The Village is gearing up to launch the 2026 Road Program, which is focused on maintaining and improving the quality of our local roadways.

During the past several months, the Village has conducted a thorough review of street conditions throughout the community, identifying areas that would most benefit from resurfacing and other road improvements.

For this year’s program, the following roadways have been preliminarily identified for resurfacing:

Crabtree Trails: Wind Ridge Drive, West Lake Drive, Woodbury Court, Brookhaven Circle
The Ponds: Pentwater Drive, Stonebrook Court, Watercrest Court

While these roads have been prioritized, the final selection will depend on the bids received from contractors. The Village will issue a public request for bids in the coming weeks, and only after reviewing the responses will we be able to confirm which streets will be included in the 2026 program.

We understand that residents are eager to know which streets will be resurfaced and when work will begin. The Village is committed to keeping the community informed throughout the process. Updates will be provided via the Village newsletter, the website, and social media.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to maintain and improve our roadways. Your continued support helps the Village make informed decisions about infrastructure improvements that benefit the entire community.

South Barrington Conservancy Project – Get Involved!

Last week, we shared the exciting news that the South Barrington Conservancy secured a $600,000 OSLAD grant which will be used to develop passive recreational amenities, enhance habitat conservation, and create educational features that will continue to add to the character and ascetics of our Village.

This project will be a major undertaking, and we want you to be part of the planning process. We are currently seeking volunteers to join a committee that will help organize and execute ideas, ensuring that the voices of our residents are heard as we shape this space into a destination that can be enjoyed year-round by all.

It’s Kindergarten Sign-Up Time in Barrington 220!

Enrollment is underway at Barrington 220 for next fall’s kindergarten class. Here are three easy steps for you to follow to enroll your child:

Step 1:
Visit and bookmark the Ready, Set, Kindergarten page to stay up to date:

Step 2:
Complete the Central Registration Questionnaire (due February 2) to kick off the registration process.

Step 3:
Attend one (or more!) of our Kindergarten Information Nights to learn more about our programs:
February 2: General Kindergarten Welcome at each elementary school
February 4: Chinese Immersion – North Barrington Elementary
February 5: Spanish Dual Language – Lines Elementary
February 10: K-Lab (Kindergarten Lab) – Barrington High School

A Well-Earned Retirement

The Village is preparing to say goodbye to our long-term Building Administrative Assistant, Marcia, as she heads into a very well-earned retirement!

Marcia has proudly served the Village for more than 23 years, holding a variety of roles during her tenure. She has built countless relationships, not only with fellow employees, but also with residents and contractors. Her dedication, knowledge, and presence will truly be missed as she prepares for this next chapter.

While it’s bittersweet to say goodbye, the work must go on, and we are now accepting applications for a Building & Engineering Administrative Assistant.
