Dear Residents,
The Village has received a large number of resident requests for a brush and branch pick-up. To meet those requests, we have scheduled a special Spring Village-wide brush and branch pick-up for the week of April 8. To ensure pick-up, brush and branches must be at the curb by 6:00 am on Monday, April 8. Although it may take several days to complete this project, Cuba Township will make only ONE sweep per street. This collection does not include all yard waste, such as leaves. Please review the Brush Pick-up Guidelines on our website. As a reminder, brush piles are limited to 4 ft. high by 4ft. wide, not to exceed 10 ft. in length. Yard waste stickers are not required for this pick-up.
On Wednesday, March 13, I attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony at Barbara B. Rose Elementary School to commemorate the new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) lab and Sensory room. It was great to see and experience first-hand the educational activities that will be available to the children through this scholastic opportunity.

The following information is from the Office of the Cook County Treasurer Maria Pappas. I would encourage residents that have a private well to register for the Private Well class webinar, Groundwater and Well Construction 101, on Wednesday, March 20, from 1-3 p.m. In this free training, you will learn private well topics that homeowners might encounter, such as: Types of wells and well construction, the basic components of a well system, and Water treatment options. There is still time to enroll in the webinar, to attend click register.
The Village holiday light recycling program is complete with the weight of 150 lbs. and we received $48.30. Thank you to all of those who dropped off their lights for recycling and not adding to the landfills.
The Arboretum will be providing FREE Easter photo opportunities starting Saturday, March 23 in the heated holiday tent near Star Cinema Grill. The event is from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and remember to bring your camera. For more information about this event’s activities and other dates, see below.
There is a Plan Commission meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 26 at 7:00 pm.
