Dear Residents,
The summer entertainment is heating up thanks to the Wickstrom Auto Group Concert series.
Kick off next week’s concert with Carol Tortorice of Kickin’ It with Carol, who will be leading a free line dancing session August 5th beginning at 5:30 p.m. Carol creates a fun, energetic, and welcoming atmosphere for everyone, whether you’re trying line dancing for the very first time or you’re a seasoned dancer.
After the line dancing session, participants will be able to put their newfound knowledge into practice as Hillbilly Rockstarz takes the stage for an evening of high-energy country music and entertainment.
The line dancing session is completely free and open to all ages, making it the perfect way to kick off a summer evening. Come early, bring your friends and family, and get ready to dance, sing along, and enjoy another fantastic night at the Wickstrom Auto Group Concert Series!

The Village has an important service opportunity for anyone looking to get more involved.
We are in need of volunteers to help make our upcoming Community Shred Event a success on Saturday, September 5, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Volunteer Requirements:
- Must be able to lift at least 20 pounds
- Friendly, reliable, and willing to assist residents during the event
If you’re interested in volunteering, please contact Makayla Terfehn at mterfehn@southbarrington.org. Thank you for helping us keep South Barrington clean, organized, and environmentally responsible!

SOUTH BARRINGTON CLUB JUNIOR TENNIS TEAM HEADED TO SECTIONALS—AGAIN!
The South Barrington Club Junior Tennis Team has qualified for the Sectional Championships for the third consecutive summer, which is an incredible accomplishment.
They qualified in 2024, 2025, and now 2026. Their remarkable consistency and excellence are a testament to the hard work, dedication, sportsmanship, and teamwork demonstrated by these talented young athletes throughout the season. On behalf of the Village of South Barrington, I would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the players, coaches, and families whose commitment and support have made this success possible. We wish the team the very best as they represent our community at the Sectional Championships in Indianapolis. Good luck, and congratulations on another outstanding season!

Park District Updates:
Beginning August 17th, the tennis courts owned by the South Barrington Park District at Community Park will be undergoing repairs. The courts will be closed for approximately six weeks while improvements are completed and in excellent condition for the fall tennis season. They are sorry for the inconvenience, but these repairs are important and necessary.
Finally, the demolition of Dunteman Park is underway in preparation for park renovations. Please be mindful of the construction taking place and follow safety guidelines. Stay Safe!
ONLINE PERMIT APPLICATIONS- COMING SOON
Last week, I shared that the Village has been working with BS&A to expand our online services, including online payments, applications, and the ability to accept credit card payments in person.
As we begin rolling out these new features, the Village’s permit process will transition to an online application system. Residents and contractors will be able to submit permit applications, upload required documents, track their application status, and complete much of the process electronically, all from the convenience of their home or office.
Understandably, a new system comes with a learning curve. We appreciate your patience as we implement these improvements. Village staff will be available to anyone who needs help navigating the new process and are currently working on tools to assist with registration.
This is an exciting step forward in modernizing Village services. We believe the new online permitting system will make the application process more convenient, improve efficiency, and help us provide faster service to our residents and contractors.
Stay tuned for more information!
As always, I am here to listen to your thoughts and concerns. Feel free to email me at pmccombie@southbarrington.org, or use the anonymous comment boxes located in the lobbies of Village Hall and the Police Department. I review these messages privately and value your input.
Have an enjoyable weekend!

Paula McCombie
Mayor
