Dear Residents,
I hope everyone is staying warm during these cold winter days. It looks like we are in for more snow and cold weather. Stay warm and stay safe.
East Dundee Fire District secures Class 2 ISO Protection Classification rating
The East Dundee Fire District has taken a significant step forward by achieving an ISO Protection Classification Class 2 rating. This is big achievement from their previous Class 3 rating.
ISO ratings evaluate a community’s fire protection services, including emergency communications, fire department operations, and water supply. Earning a Class 2 rating reflects East Dundee Fire District’s continued commitment to excellence in operational readiness, training, prevention efforts, and community risk-reduction initiatives, all of which strengthen public safety and community resilience. A Class 2 rating signifies an excellent fire suppression system and places the department among the top 4–7% of fire departments nationwide.
These recognitions serve as a strong reminder of how fortunate our region is to be supported by highly skilled and dedicated first responders. On behalf of the residents of South Barrington, we commend the East Dundee Fire District on this well-deserved achievement and extend our sincere appreciation to all first responders for their ongoing commitment to protecting our communities.

The Greggory Earns BACC Professional Excellence Award!
The Greggory in South Barrington has quickly become a premier dining destination since opening in 2025. Known for its live-fire cooking, refined American cuisine with Mediterranean influences, and upscale yet welcoming atmosphere, the restaurant has drawn strong regional attention.
In its first year, The Greggory earned international recognition as #33 on the list of the Top 50 Steak Restaurants in North America, a testament to its culinary quality and innovation. Last evening, The Greggory was further honored with the Barrington Chamber of Commerce Professional Excellence Award at the Chamber’s Annual Dinner and Scholarship Fundraiser. The Trustees and I were grateful for the opportunity to be there in support of our local partners and to celebrate such a well-deserved accomplishment.
The Greggory continues to receive high praise for its premier menu, space, and atmosphere that now ranks as one of the top steak houses in the country! With an experienced hospitality team at the helm and a growing local following, we continue to look forward to seeing how The Greggory continues to evolve and what exciting milestones lie ahead.
