I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe 4^th of July. As a reminder, the state of Illinois prohibits the sale, purchase, and use of most types of fireworks. For additional information on what’s allowed, please read this article from Patch.

If you are leaving town this summer, I encourage you to utilize your alarm system and request a Vacation Housewatch.  The Vacation Housewatch service is provided by our Police Department at no cost to our residents.  Patrol officers will conduct periodic checks of your home’s perimeter while you are away to verify nothing unusual is occurring on or about your premises.  Help us keep your property safe!

Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias has introduced several new programs to make the DMV experience easier.  Many DMV services are now available to complete online without a visit to a facility.  There is even a new mobile unit, bringing the services to you!  You can read more about the mobile unit below in my message.

Next Wednesday, in the Arboretum at Main Street Plaza, the concert series resumes with The Boy Band Night, starting at 6:30 p.m.  To view the complete line-up of bands and other concert information, visit the Summer Concert Series.
