SolSmart Solar Energy Systems
The Village of South Barrington is committed to supporting solar energy in South Barrington. Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on South Barrington homes and business help decarbonize South Barrington’s electricity supply and provide distributed resource generation. Solar thermal systems provide hot water without burning natural gas, further reducing the community’s carbon footprint.
The Village of South Barrington was awarded Gold designation through the US Department of Energy’s SolSmart designation program. The SolSmart certification ensures that communities are leading the way in solar power use and effectiveness. The SolSmart designation builds on South Barrington’s commitment to making carbon free energy available to South Barrington residents and Mayor McCombie’s pledge for 100% Clean Energy.
Our offices will assist residents with the installation of solar energy systems, helping reduce he time and money it takes to install renewable energy system in your home. Our program allows residents a thorough yet streamlined process to use an alternative energy source saving both cost and natural resources and benefitting our community as a whole.
