Dear Residents,
We wish all our residents a warm, safe, and happy Thanksgiving holiday.
As we head into next week, we are excited to officially welcome the start of the holiday season here in South Barrington. In observance of Thanksgiving, Village Hall and Police Department Administrative Offices will be closed on Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28.
Although administrative offices will be closed, our police officers are on duty 24 hours a day, including all holidays and weekends. If you need assistance or need to contact the Police Department during this time, please call 9-1-1.
Holidays at Village Hall
Starting in December, the Village will be offering a variety of fun and engaging activities for our residents — and we hope you’ll join in!
Letters to Santa – Starting December 1st
Beginning December 1st, we invite you to stop by the Village Hall lobby where we will have a special Letters for Santa Station set up. Bring your little ones to write down their holiday wishes and send a little magic straight to the North Pole.
Holiday House Decorating Contest
This year, we’re launching a Holiday House Decorating Contest! While we would love for everyone to admire the beautifully decorated neighborhoods throughout South Barrington, we know time is precious, so we’re bringing the fun to you.
HERE’S HOW IT WILL WORK:
- Residents who wish to participate can submit 2 photos of their decorated home, along with their address.
- Your home will be added to our online contest, and our residents will be the judges!
- Voting will take place online or by submitting your choice via email
The Prize
The winner will not only receive bragging rights as South Barrington’s most festive home, but also a $200 gift card of your choice to The Arboretum. Big thanks to Rick Heidner, our shopping center owner, for this generous donation!
Important Dates
- House entry deadline: December 9th
- Voting/Judging: December 15th–19th
- Winner Announced: December 22nd
If you’d like to enter your home or have any questions, please reach out to Makayla at mterfehn@southbarrington.org

Thank You to the South Barrington Garden Club
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the South Barrington Garden Club! This wonderful group of dedicated residents has been helping keep Village Hall both beautiful and festive throughout the year.
Their volunteer efforts include creating and maintaining the seasonal flowerpots that surround our flagpole in front, and every season they surprise us with a fresh, creative arrangement. Their care and craftsmanship bring color, warmth, and charm to our grounds.
We truly appreciate all that you do. Thank you for your continued commitment to our community!

Barbara Rose PTO- Parents Night Out: Pickleball & Pearls
On January 31, the Barbara Rose Elementary of South Barrington will host its biggest fundraiser of the year, Parents Night Out: Pickleball & Pearls!
They are currently seeking sponsors for the event as well as donations for their silent and live auctions. Every contribution helps them reach their goal of creating flexible, innovative classroom spaces for all Barbara Rose students.
If your business, organization, or family would like to contribute, please contact them at RosePNO26@gmail.com.

As always, I am here to listen to your thoughts and concerns. Feel free to email me at pmccombie@southbarrington.org, or use the anonymous comment boxes located in the lobbies of Village Hall and the Police Department. I review these messages privately and value your input.
Have an enjoyable weekend!
