Dear Residents,
Next week is the Fourth of July Holiday and as a reminder, please note that the Village Hall administrative offices will be closed on Friday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day. We will resume regular business hours on Monday, July 7th at 8:00 a.m.
ComEd Information
This week, Village Administrator Michael Dropka and I met with a representative from ComEd to discuss several topics including the rising cost of energy. You may recall, in a previous email newsletter, I discussed some of the causes of the spike in energy costs. To learn about the cost of energy as well as tips for how to manage your energy bill go HERE.
Another important topic discussed was the critical issue of power outages and their impact on residents as well as who to rely on for life support medical equipment. If you or someone in your household depends on electrically powered medical equipment, we strongly urge you to contact ComEd directly. Registering with them ensures they are aware of your needs and can prioritize your residence for support during outages when possible.
To register or learn more, please contact ComEd at: 1-800-334-7661 or log onto: www.comed.com.
Fireworks Reminder
Independence Day is not complete without fireworks, but please remember fireworks are not permitted in South Barrington without a valid permit. Both Cook County and the State of Illinois prohibit the use of fireworks unless conducted by a certified pyrotechnician with the proper authorization.
As of now, the Village has not issued any firework permits for the upcoming holiday. For your safety and that of your neighbors, we kindly ask that you leave fireworks to the professionals.

Water Quality Report 2024
The 2024 Water Quality Report was mailed out with the latest water bill for those residents on Village Water.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires us to publish this report annually describing the quality of our drinking water. The Village routinely conducts tests for contaminants in drinking water and results have always been below all State and Federal allowable levels. The report is also available digitally on the Village website or visit 2024 Annual Drinking Water Quality Report.
As always, I am here to listen to your thoughts and concerns. Feel free to email me at pmccombie@southbarrington.org, or use the anonymous comment boxes located in the lobbies of Village Hall and the Police Department. I review these messages privately and value your input.
Have a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July!
