Dear Residents,
The Village Hall Administrative offices will be closed Monday, December 25 and Tuesday, December 26 in observance of the Christmas holiday. We will resume normal business hours on Wednesday, December 27 at 8 a.m.
Although the offices are closed, our police officers are on duty 24 hours a day, including holidays and weekends. If you need to contact the police department, do not hesitate to call 9-1-1.
Groot collection of garbage and recycling will be delayed one day, due to the observed Christmas holiday on Monday, December 25. This same schedule will be in effect for the following week too. Mark your calendar for waste pick-up on Tuesday, December 26 and Tuesday, January 2. Groot recommends that residents “have all garbage and recycling out by 6am or the night before to ensure pickup. Additional recycling like wrapping paper etc. must be placed inside the Groot issued recycle bin.”
In case you are following Plan Commission meetings, on Wednesday the Plan Commission members reviewed the proposed plans for 26 custom homes on the SW corner of Freeman and Mundhank Rd. The potential developer will be coming back to the Commission with engineering information within the next few months for further review.
Congressman Krishnamoorthi is having a Meet and Greet reception at Harper College on Monday, January 8, from 6 – 7:30pm to meet with members of his community. I plan on attending this event. If attending, please RSVP here to help determine a head count for the reception.
On Thursday, Administrator Palmer, Chief Roman and I attended the Bulls Eye Axe Lounge ribbon cutting ceremony. This business is under new ownership and excited to serve the community. They are located at 100 W. Higgins Rd., Ste. M-30 in The Arboretum of South Barrington. For more information or to book a party visit their website here.
The Arboretum is full of holiday cheer this time of year! Tomorrow is your last chance to see Santa and Mrs. Claus in the seasonal tent. Bring your camera to capture the memory!
I would like to wish those celebrating Christmas a very Merry Christmas and to those celebrating Kwanzaa, a very Happy Kwanzaa.
You can always reach me by email at pmccombie@southbarrington.org on our website. Anonymous comment boxes are also available in the lobbies of Village Hall and the Police Department. I read anonymous messages privately, so please do not hesitate to contact me.
Happy Holidays to you and your families,
Paula McCombie
Mayor
